Catherine and Dave’s wedding

Holdsworth House 5-19Our latest real wedding couple clearly made a lasting impression on each other when their paths crossed in a local bar. As just two short weeks after their first date their blossoming romance was put to the test when Dave went to serve a second tour of Afghanistan for seven months. Needless to say they had found that special bond in those first weeks and on Dave’s return they pursued their relationship. Here’s what Catherine had to say about their big day:
It was amazing!!!!! Absolutely perfect I wish I could rewind and do it all again.
The Venue
We were married in St Francis church in Bradford and then went on to Holdsworth house for the reception.
We loved the old features and how cosy the venue felt! It was understated with small rooms but had lots of character.
The planning
I found planning the wedding day lots of fun and not at all stressful. We were engaged for two years which gave me lots of time to plan. My mum, sister and nanny helped out lots making invites, favours and the cake which helped us to keep the cost down.
The Dress
I found it fairly easy and found it in the third bridal shop we visited. I knew it was ‘the one’ when I tried it on! The Hair and Make up I wanted my hair down and curly to match the princess style of the dress. I just did my own makeup like I normally would. On the day
The morning of the wedding was lots of fun. All my bridesmaids and flower girls were there and my mum and a friend’s mum who had all stayed the night before. We had lots of champagne on the morning and all got ready together around my mum’s dining table it was fab!
The church ceremony was at 12.30pm ahead of our reception at Holdsworth House for our 80 guests.
