Here’s what they had to say about their big day:

Our wedding day was amazing, it really was the best day of my life. we both had a great day!

The Proposal

We met quite a while ago and have known of each other since I was 16. Paul worked with my brother but never got talking properly till I was 18 and that is when we started dating. We got engaged in Paris at the top of the Eiffel tower in March 2014.

The Venue
We originally looked at the Great Victoria but for some reason decided to look elsewhere. In total I think we look at five venues before we went back to the Great Victoria. We chose the venue because it was grand inside and out, it was also in a perfect location for both families to get to as some of Paul’s family are from Bradford and mine are from Keighley.

The Planning

To begin with I thought planning a wedding would be stressful and it was a few times but not as much as I was expecting, I think it helped a lot more as the hotel came with a wedding planner. Once we had chosen everything we wanted it all just fell into place.

The Dress

I only went to two wedding dress shops, at the first one I thought I had found ‘the one’ but continued to look elsewhere just to make sure. We went to Cinderellas in Skipton and I must have tried on every dress in the whole shop! I eventually I narrowed it down to two dresses so I went away to have a think and went back the same day and put a deposit down there and then.
Before I started looking I was convinced I wanted a fishtail wedding dress but as I was trying them on I realized they didn’t suit me as much as I had hoped. I didn’t really have any inspiration just knew I wanted detail and lace.

The Ceremony
We got married at 12pm and shared our day with 58 day guests and around 60 evening guests.

Words of Wisdom

My advice would be, enjoy every single minute of it!  From planning it and the day itself. Also take in every second as it happens because the day flies by, it’s like you blink and it’s all over with. So many people were telling us how fast the day goes, and we just thought ok, it can’t go that quick it’s a full day, but they weren’t joking!
