If you’re planning a Yorkshire wedding but the idea of styling your own big day is keeping you awake at night then read on!
Yorkshire Rose Brides Editor Louise Lavigueur catches up with Yorkshire wedding planner and designer Emily K Weddings to hear how she can add the ‘wow factor’ to your wedding.
A former interior designer, Emily Lancaster has quit the big smoke and come back to her Yorkshire roots with a passion to create beautifully bespoke weddings.
“Design for me has always been about pushing the boundaries, focusing on the detail and creating something truly unique.”
“Planning my own special day made me realise how much passion I have for weddings.
“The trend for oh, so pretty weddings is great but I like to add that edge and encorporate the couples’ personalities and a bit of quirkiness to things.
“But ultimately it’s your wedding and you remain in control the whole time.”
Emily offers a range of services but her most popular are Bijou styling and On the Day Coordination.
She also offers full wedding co-ordination, supplier sourcing and venue searches.
She explains: “I offer a free one-to-ones either over a coffee, or via skype which gives me a chance to get to know you and any visions you have for your wedding day.
“From there I will go away and produce a quote, which is a proposal tailored to your exact requirements.
“I am passionate about wedding planning and styling, and I will do everything to ensure your wedding is planned to incredible detail so you can relax and enjoy your day.”
“I use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to produce concept visuals to help you see your day come to life. You can consider a range of options before we pin down the design and you can rest assured whatever we go for, it will be planned to perfection.”
“Imagine the wows from your guests by adding interest, texture and most of all that extra special personalised touch. I can help you bring all these little touches to life.”
“I find Pinterest is great for giving brides inspiration but I think the DIY trend can put pressure on couples to be able to achieve it all themselves. This can often lead to couples being overwhelmed with wedding planning.
“I can take the pressure off and allow you to enjoy your precious engagement period.”
To showcase her styling and further cement herself in the Yorkshire wedding industry Emily has been involved in several ‘styled shoots’ which are featured in blogs and magazines.
Emily explains: “Doing styled shoots are such great fun and a chance to work with some amazingly talented professionals.
“I was involved in a fine-art ethereal shoot inspired by William Morris Patterns and the beautiful Kent countryside.
“The shoot was at a barn venue and featured elegant styling for brides looking for a combination of rustic and traditional.”
