A Yorkshire bride and dance teacher has told how she hopes her own first dance video – which has been viewed more than 35,000 around the world – inspires others to take up lessons ahead of their own big day.

Amie Milner and her dad Ian Richards wowed guests during a unique routine to chart toppers and classic tunes.

Amie, 29, told YR Brides: “It was never my intention to inspire in this way, but yes, if there are couples getting married who are thinking of doing something similar they can see how well it goes down, so yes I would hope it would encourage them.”

The Doncaster-based dance teacher, who tied the knot with husband Liam on Saturday, put together the up-tempo medley of songs including the Monkees’ Daydream Believer, One Step Beyond by Madness and Single Ladies by Beyonce.

Amie, who is now on honeymoon in Cyprus, said she wasn’t nervous before the pair took to the dance floor to perform the routine before her 130 guests at Thoresby Park near Newark.

And due to the amazing response from the assembled crowd of family and friends, Amie and her 53-year-old dad, took to the dance floor at the end of the night to relive the epic routine once more.

The pair had eight to ten half-hour lessons choreographing the routine at Amie’s dance school, The L.A Performing Arts Academy in Doncaster.

She said: “It went down a storm and by the end of the Dance everyone was chanting my dads name, we even did an encore at the end of the night. It was brilliant.”

And for her first dance with husband Liam she opted for a more traditional romantic dance.

Amie added: “Couples should be able to make their wedding day special in whatever way they want. For me it, was by incorporating dance.”
