It’s no secret that we absolutely love vintage weddings.
Not only is it a great way to add personal touches but it also offers timeless elegance of once treasured possessions which are lovingly re-purposed for your big day.
With this in mind we’ve caught up with Tracey and Amy from, Be Our Guest, a brand new vintage crockery business to hear their exciting new venture.

Where did the idea for Be Our Guest originate from?

It all started when my daughter was organising my granddaughter’s christening and decided that she wanted a Vintage Afternoon Tea-theme.  I already had quite a few vintage cups, saucers, teapots and cake stands, but we obviously didn’t have enough to cater for the 50 people she was inviting.

We therefore decided to look around and buy a few things on our travels.  I asked my daughter what we were going to do with everything when the christening was over, and she came up with the idea of hiring it out, and that’s how Be Our Guest came about.

Is it just tea cups or what else do you hire out?

​We had a great time sourcing lovely vintage crockery, tablecloths, cutlery, old books, and the like.  We are now hoping that other people get just as much joy out of our treasures as we do.

What’s the response been like so far from events you’ve worked on?

​One of our first events was a surprise retirement party and a gin-tage Afternoon Tea! (gin served in our gorgeous vintage teapots, cups and saucers!

What makes your business special?

We do pride ourselves on being a small family-run business. We also ask if there is anything that you had set your heart on, but we don’t have, that you ask us and we will do our utmost to try and source this for you.
