Gemma and Malcolm's wedding

Our latest real wedding made me tingle when I saw the pictures. It’s simply beautiful. The chemistry between Gemma and Malcolm is captured beautifully against the stunning backdrop at Mirfield Monastery.

Gemma & Malcolm at Mirfield Monastery
The Mirfield couple got together 20 years ago and have two adorable daughters Maire and Isla. But it wasn’t until Malc’s birthday in August 2014 that they decided to set about making it official and got engaged. Two years later their big day was upon them  and they became husband and wife at the Monastery’s chapel. Here Gemma shares their wedding story: The Venue “We liked the fact the venue staff and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The grounds are stunning and peaceful and it was very reasonably priced. There was nothing about the venue we didn’t like.” The Planning “Planning was fairly straight forward. We did nearly everything either ourselves or with the help of friends and family. Malcolm’s Aunty Alison made our cake and my friend’s dad was our DJ. A friend of mine runs a small company from home called Mum’s Jewellery based in Robertown and she helped us with handmade bracelets for the bridesmaid gifts and also my eldest daughter Maire help made a few item for the table decorations.” The Dress “I went to a couple of shops with my mum Sheila and found the perfect dress in a local bridal shop in Mirfield called Alison Jane Bridal. I found the staff lovely and friendly and very helpful.” CREAM PHOTOGRAPHY (3)The Bridal Look “I just went through pictures on the internet found a few I liked. I’m not one for too much make-up so wanted it quite light, but I still wanted people to see I had some on. I was very pleased with both my hair and make-up.” On the day… I was too busy to feel nervous. My mum took my girls Maire 11 and Isla 4 to the hair dressers and I went with my friend to have my hair and make-up done. I had eight bridesmaids and a pageboy so there wasn’t enough room for us all to be at my mum and dad’s house so just my girls and my nephew Louie got ready together.
