Karina and Chris’s wedding was held in the modern and sophisticated 315 Bar and Restaurant at Lepton, Huddersfield.
The couple were relaxed and excited on their wedding morning and due to Karina’s meticulous attention to detail (you’ll see it in the stunning pictures) and to the rest of the team at Bar 315, the day was everything the couple dreamed of!
Although Karina confessed she never imagined getting married, so clearly Chris must have been doing something right!
After a three year engagement the couple were ready to tie-the knot with their beautiful daughter Aurora at their side.
The blushing bride looked stunning in her sparkling Ronald Joyce gown with a customised heart on the train (her something blue).
She had included little surprises for guests and her vintage table and show stopping cake, clearly had the ‘wow factor’ going on.
Her customised details, particularly on her bridal shoes ensured her grandad (who passed away months before the wedding) was walking every step of the way with her.
A gorgeous touch and a personalised keep sake, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Here’s what Karina had to say about her special day:
The dress My dress was designer by Ronald Joyce and purchased as sample gown the year before my wedding at a wedding shop in Stockport. Little did I know that I was actually sold a second hand pre altered gown! But I took it to To Have & To Hold in Mirfield and the owner Clare was amazing and managed to get the dress altered and looking perfect!I’d never dreamed of my wedding day, I never wanted a princess dress or castle like venue. In fact, I never saw my self getting married at all! But as I stood saying my vows, I knew it was perfect. We had a fantastic day, surrounded by the love and support of our family and friends, knowing we will all share the memories of our day the rest of our lives, truly is a special gift!
She really does deserve the credit for my dress!
I love my dress and could never bring myself to sell it.
My flowers were by Joanne at Bunch in Horbury, West Yorkshire. I went for a ‘vintage style’ hand tied bouquet and gypsophila pomander and bouquet for my bridesmaid and flower girl.
Joanne was unbelievably helpful as I was pretty vague about how many flowers I wanted, I just said ‘flower runner’ and she went with it.
My shoes were by Monsoon second hand from eBay, I paid £11.98 including posting.
My extremely talented friend Katherine Cholerton then added the ‘magic’ and turned them into the masterpiece they were.
They were detailed with our wedding date, engagement date and the birth date of our daughter along with her name.
I then added important places and finally photos of my late father and grandad.
I sadly lost my grandad a few months before the wedding and he was due to walk me down the aisle, this way he could!
The Finishing touches
There was also my something blue made from his shirt on the train of my dress.
The hairpieces worn by myself and my maid of honour and bridesmaid were made by myself.
I used to design tiaras but knowing that everyone knew that made me even more nervous.
So I spent hours making sure it was perfect and it ended up being one of my favourite projects.
